The controversy over organic food is so fascinating. Wouldn’t you agree?
On the one hand, you have the marketing geniuses at corporate levels coming up with a label–organic–that has no agreed upon medical or scientific basis.
On the other hand, you have people who are convinced that organic food has health benefits and tastes better.
It has no health benefits. In the UK and the EU, corporations are forbidden by law from making claims of health for organic products.
It does not taste better. There are no studies or even broad anecdotes which support any claim to tastier food because of an organic way of producing them. There is no standard or uniform way to meet the criteria of something being organic.
So what’s going on?
People want to eat tasty things that are good for them. Corporations see profit in those views.
