Yes, it’s true, the two Berners have been bathed. Much hyperventilating, no kidding, from the younger dog; glares and fidgeting from the older dog.
Later, the same day, a run, and a plan to prepare a Swiss dinner, courtesy of Caroline Hostettler’s amazing package of Schmid and Beeler cheeses. We’re talking a Fribourg style vegetable soup, grilled Gruyere atop hedgehog mushrooms on seeded bread, and Schmid alone!
That’s one remarkable thing about all these cookbooks, right? As if it’s possible to master cuisines and recipes. Isn’t it more likely to be able to penetrate a couple or three cuisines and memorize about a dozen dishes?
And leave the real cooking to the masters of the cuisine…like Boulud for the French, and so on…
