Writing Weather

It’s writing weather, my favorite, a steady downpour that fuels grief and memory, joy and a synecdoche of sounds and visuals that are real and imagined.  Me?  I’m on the road briefly and then returning home to send out a book proposal, write Swiss pitches, and make headway in what seems to be a happy family narrative.

Last night at PARK, in Harvard Square, it was a martini made with Raj gin, which, at $11, is the bargain of the century.  That gin goes for about $49 a bottle and the big pour at PARK, well, do the math.  Later that same night?  A delicious pizza from Otto (Portland based, not Batali) and the NBA Final.  Could it be any better?  It can: SPURS OVER HEAT!

It gets even better-better.  Today, thanks to progeny, a batch of Oregon ‘shrooms, a truffle, and a porcini arrive.

Worth writing about.
