It’s writing weather, my favorite, a steady downpour that fuels grief and memory, joy and a synecdoche of sounds and visuals that are real and imagined. Me? I’m on the road briefly and then returning home to send out a book proposal, write Swiss pitches, and make headway in what seems to be a happy family narrative.
Last night at PARK, in Harvard Square, it was a martini made with Raj gin, which, at $11, is the bargain of the century. That gin goes for about $49 a bottle and the big pour at PARK, well, do the math. Later that same night? A delicious pizza from Otto (Portland based, not Batali) and the NBA Final. Could it be any better? It can: SPURS OVER HEAT!
It gets even better-better. Today, thanks to progeny, a batch of Oregon ‘shrooms, a truffle, and a porcini arrive.
