Back in Tokyo after 24 hours away from Japan, and in Seoul spent the morning in tourist districts of Bukhan and Isadong, which were pleasant and lively though filled with shoppers, chiefly from China and Japan.
Lot and lots of police presence in downtown Seoul. Views of distant mountains that shrouded with mist appeared like peaks from landscape drawings from long ago. A long, wide stretch of avenue had a look of military parades, and it led from tall office buildings to the imperial palace.
